Welcome to the CollectMonial blog
By Devanuj Nath
I built CollectMonial because every existing testimonial tool either looked like a 2014 SaaS dashboard glued onto my site or charged me $79 a month to do something that should cost $25. So I made the one I wanted to use, and now I'm going to write about building it.
What this blog is about
Three things, roughly:
- Notes on building a SaaS as a solo founder. Real numbers, real mistakes, the stuff people don't put in launch tweets. What worked, what burned a week and produced nothing.
- Guides on collecting testimonials that actually convert. When to ask, who to ask, how to ask, what to do with what they send you. The unglamorous mechanics of social proof.
- Tactical breakdowns of what we're shipping. Why a feature exists, what it replaced, what it didn't fix.
If you're a SaaS founder, a solopreneur, a consultant, a course creator, or anyone who needs to put customer voices on their site without it feeling like work — you're who I'm writing for.
What this blog is not
It's not going to be "10 SEO tips" filler. It's not going to be 4,000 words to rank for a keyword. If a post can be 400 words, it'll be 400 words.
What's next
I'm sitting on a backlog of things I want to write about:
- Why most testimonial widgets break your brand (and how to fix it)
- The video-vs-text testimonial conversion data nobody talks about
- How we built our paywall in two days without bloating the dashboard
- What "social proof" actually is when you have zero customers
If any of those sound like something you'd want to read, the easiest way to make sure you see it is to follow on X or check back here.
